Dickerson finds perfect fit at South Carolina

After landing two commitments on Friday, South Carolina landed another on Saturday.

Southern Pines (N.C.) Pinecrest class of 2017 three-star safety Jaylin Dickerson committed to the Gamecocks.

"I decided to make my decision earlier, so that I could get the process over with, because I already knew where I wanted to go," Dickerson explained. "I already knew it was the place for me.

"First of all, they have the No. 1 International Business school in America and that got my attention, because I want to major in business," Dickerson said. "The coaching staff, oh my gosh, they're unbelievable. Coach Robinson, Coach Muschamp, the other coaches, I'm completely comfortable around them. I can joke around with him. The atmosphere is good too."

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder went through a personal workout with the Carolina coaches at camp Thursday when the Gamecocks firmed up his offer.

Dickerson was recruited by South Carolina defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson.

"It's going to take hard work," Dickerson said of playing for Robinson. "They coach with intensity. That's what I like about it. If you're going to get coached, why not get coached hard?"

Dickerson is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 46 safety in the country.

"I'm locked in," Dickerson said. "My head coach actually called all of the other coaching staffs today and told them I'm done with recruiting. So I'm done with it."

Dickerson also holds offers from East Carolina, North Carolina State and Virginia.
