Quick-hitters: Muschamp talks spiritual development program
South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp met briefly with the media Tuesday as the "Boom Bus" he'll use on his #SpursUp Tour was unveiled.

Here are notes from Muschamp:
** Muschamp took the opportunity to address what he called "misinformation and confusion about our spiritual development program" following some backlash for his decision to not retain former team chaplain Adrian Despres when he took over the program.
Muschamp said that he was expanding his spiritual development program and that he is continuing to explore hiring more people in that area.
"It's all about the student-athlete, for me," Muschamp said. "Every decision that I make within the organization is about the student-athlete, it's about the spiritial development, the social development, the academic development and the athletic development. I wanted to make sure that I cleared up anything -- there's a lot of misinformation out there."
Muschamp added that the Freedom from Religion Foundation has "zero" to do with any decisions he makes within his program.
He also said that Andre Goodman has been retained in his "beyond football" program and has done an outstanding job with it.
** Muschamp had of course hoped to to add Marcus Lattimore in a "life coach" type of role, but said he wasn't initially aware of how involved Lattimore was in his foundation's camps. USC plans to comply fully with the NCAA, Muschamp says.
"I totally respect and applaud (Lattimore) for what he's doing for young people in the state of South Carolina," Muschamp said.
Lattimore will still be very involved in the program.
** Muschamp said that spring exit interviews went well last week. He and his staff met with every player on the team. The team has to continue to take ownership and do everything they need to do this offseason. There's a good, positive feeling about the team from within. There have been no more departures from the team at this time.
** Muschamp says the "Boom Bus" is not for recruiting.
** Muschamp thanked Reamer King of King Cadillac for the use of the bus and Roger Huskey of Hollywood's Productions in Gaffney, S.C. for the graphics.
Muschamp also thanked the fan base and is looking forward to getting out and seeing them: "The welcoming feeling that we've gotten everywhere we've been in the state has been awesome."
** Muschamp said that women's basketball coach Dawn Staley, soccer coach Mark Berson, and possibly men's basketball coach Frank Martin - depending on recruiting schedule - would be at Wednesday's event at Williams-Brice.
