Jordyn Adams talks Gamecocks

In-state athlete Jordyn Adams has carried an offer from Chad Holbrook and South Carolina's baseball staff for months now. On Wednesday, the dual-sport athlete went two for two as he was able to score a football offer from Will Muschamp.

Adams learned of the offer in person during a visit to Columbia. He spoke with GamecockCentral.com afterwards.

"I’m pretty excited about it. Coach Muschamp talked to me about how I could play a big role in the future at South Carolina."

The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is being eyed by Muschamp and his staff as a wide receiver who could also contribute on special teams as a return man.

Adams, the son of former USC defensive line coach Deke Adams, obviously has plenty of familiarity with the program with the time he spent around Gamecock football the past few years.

"I like the fan base and the atmosphere on game days and how the fans really love the players," he said.

South Carolina could have an early trump card with Adams in that the Gamecocks have now offered in two sports, and Adams hopes to continue that at the next level.

"I’ve been playing baseball and football for a while so I’m really looking forward to doing both in college," he said.

Adams has heard from Clemson, College of Charleston, USC-Aiken, and Liberty in terms of baseball interest.

"My family and I are taking it slow and looking at what school really fits me. Right now I don’t have a particular order."
