Gravett commits to USC

South Carolina is looking to add talent to its 2016 recruiting class, and junior college guard Hassani Gravett gave Frank Martin and his staff some good news on that front.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder made an official visit to Columbia from Saturday until Monday and made his pledge official on Monday night.

Gravett, a Georgia native, played junior college ball at Pensacola State College, where he averaged 16 points, 7 rebounds, and almost 4 assists per game this past season. He was an 86 percent shooter from the foul line and hit at a 39 percent clip from the three-point line.

"I really feel a strong connection with Coach Martin that I didn't feel from the other coaches recruiting me," Gravett told GamecockCentral.com. "Besides basketball, he is an overall great man with the proper life morals and I feel comfortable joining him and the program. I feel like I will be successful running the point there."

West Virginia was also involved with Gravett, who originally signed with Gardner-Webb out of high school prior to prepping at Hargrave Military and then heading to Pensacola State. He told GamecockCentral.com that he will have three years to play at the college level.
