Gamecocks in the pros: July 5-10

MLB

Jackie Bradley Jr. went 6-for-19 (.315) for Boston with four runs scored, two doubles, a home run and two RBIs. He's hitting .306 in July and will start for the American League in Tuesday's All Star Game.

Steve Pearce remains on Tampa Bay's disabled list. He last played June 20.

Justin Smoak went 3-for-15 (.200) with a run. He played in five of Toronto's six games this week, hitting in four of those.

Sam Dyson had two one-inning relief appearances for Texas throwing two innings and giving up no runs on two hits. He threw a perfect inning July 8 and picked up his 18th save of the season.

Whit Merrifield went 4-for-20 (.200) for Kansas City with two runs scored and a RBI. he's hitting .200 since June 30.

Triple-A

Christian Walker is on a miniature hot streak for the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore). He went 6-for-21 (.285) this week with two runs and a RBI and is hitting .316 this month.

Michael Roth was designated for assignment to the Round Rock Express (Texas) after one appearance in the majors. He went six innings Sunday, giving up one earned run on four hits. His ERA in Triple-A is 2.58.

Bryan Harper had two appearances for the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington). He went two innings and didn't allow a hit or run. He's only allowed six hits since being promoted to Triple-A June 13.

Tyler Webb had one appearance with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees). He went 2.2 innings with three hits, one earned run and one strikeout. He lost the game and moves to 2-1 on the year.

Peter Mooney was promoted from Double-A Jacksonville to the New Orleans Zephyrs (Miami) and has gone 2-for-7 (.286) with a run and three RBIs.

Double-A

Evan Marzilli went 5-for-19 (.263) with three runs and two RBIs with the Mobile BayBears (Arizona).

Joel Seddon started one game for the Midland RockHounds (Oakland). He went five innings and gave up two earned runs on five hits. He walked three and struck out five, picking up the loss and moving to 3-5 on the season.

Jordan Montgomery won his only start this week for the Trenton Thunder (Yankees). He threw seven shutout innings, giving up six hits. He moves to 4-3 on the year with a 2.47 ERA.

Evan Beal had to relief appearances with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City). He pitched 3.1 innings giving up two runs off two hits while striking out three batters.

Grayson Greiner went 4-for-17 (.235) with the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit) with a home run, one run scored and three RBIs.

Single-A Advanced

Kyle Martin went 3-for-11 (.272) with a home run for the Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia). He scored four runs and drove in three runs. He's hitting .313 since June 27.

Tanner English remains on the disabled list for the Fort Meyers Miracle (Minnesota). He last played April 19.

LB Dantzler played in one game for Dunedin Blue Jays (Toronto) went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.

Joey Pankake went 4-for-23 (.174) with the Lakeland Tigers (Detroit) with three runs scored and six RBIs. He hit two home runs, including a grand slam Sunday.

Max Shrock's jump to Single-A continues to go well. He's hitting .450 with the Potomac Nationals (Washington). He hit 10-for-27 (.370) this week with six runs, six RBIs, including two home runs.

Jack Wynkoop won his start this week for the Modesto Nuts (Colorado). He gave up no runs on seven hits in seven innings. He struck out five and improves to 3-3 this year (1-1 in Advanced-A) with a 3.57 ERA.

Single-A Short Season

Taylor Widener had one appearance for the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees), going three innings and giving up one hit and no earned runs. He struck out three.

Dom Thompson-Williams went 3-for-14 (.214) for the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees). He's batting .200 since his arrival and has stolen six bases.

Gene Cone went 1-for-8 (.125) with the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) with a run and four walks.

Rookie League

Marcus Mooney went 3-for-12 (.250) with the Danville Braves (Atlanta) with five runs. He's hitting .269 since going to the pros.
