Gamecock Baseball in the Pros: July 11-17

MLB

Jackie Bradley Jr. started Tuesday for the American League in the MLB All-Star Game, going a perfect 2-for-2 in four innings of play. After the All-Star break he's gone 3-for-10 (.300) with two runs scored for Boston.

Steve Pearce remains on the 15-Day disabled list for Tampa Bay.

Justin Smoak's hit 4-for-8 (.500) with a home run and two runs scored. He also picked up a two-year contract extension earlier this week.

Whit Merrifield has gone 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in one game for Kansas City.

Sam Dyson picked up his nineteenth save Sunday for Texas, pitching one inning against the Cubs and striking out the side.

Triple-A

Christian Walker went 6-for-13 (.461) with the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) with a home run. He's hitting .259 this season and .316 since July 5.

Tyler Webb had two relief appearances for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees). He pitched 2.1 perfect innings over two outings. He also struck out four batters and dropped his ERA to 3.00.

Michael Roth started one game for the Round Rock Express (Texas) going 6.2 innings with nine hits and one earned run. He walked four batters and struck out five.

Bryan Harper pitched one inning in relief for the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington). He gave up one hit and no earned runs with a strikeout and walk.

Double-A

Evan Marzilli went 3-for-25 (.120) for the Mobile Bay Bears (Arizona) with four walks and six runs scored.

Joel Seddon started one game for the Midland RockHounds (Oakland), giving up one earned run on one hit in six innings. He also struck out six batters.

Grayson Greiner went 2-for-10 (.200) for the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit) with one run scored.

Peter Mooney was demoted from Triple-A New Orleans and sent back to Jacksonville Suns (Miami) after hitting .286 in Triple-A. Since coming back to Jacksonville, he's gon 4-for-16 (.250).

Jordan Montgomery hasn't pitched for the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) since July 7.

Evan Beal pitched four innings in relief for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City), giving up one earned run on three hits and striking out three batters.

Single-A Advanced

Kyle Martin went 9-for-27 (.333) with the Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia) with six runs scored and five RBIs. He was on a seven-game hit streak until he went hitless Sunday.

LB Dantzler has not played for the Dunedin Blue Jays (Toronto) since July 7.

Joey Pankake wnet 2-for-16 (.125) for the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit) with two runs and two RBIs. His average this season is now .226.

Max Schrock's gone 7-for-28 (.250) with the Potomac Nationals (Washington) with two runs and an RBI. He's hitting .386 since being promoted.

Jack Wynkoop started and won one game for the Modesto Nuts (Colorado). He gave up two earned runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out five and improved to 2-1 since being promoted to Modesto.

Single-A Full Season

Taylor Widener pitched four perfect innings in relief for the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees). He also struck out seven batters.

Dom Thompson-Williams is on an eight-game hitting streak with the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees), going 8-for-22 (.364) this week with two runs and two RBIs.

Gene Cone went 4-for-1o (.400) with the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) with a run and a RBI.

Rookie League

Marcus Mooney hit 5-for-21 (.238) with the Danville Braves (Atlanta) with three runs and four RBIs. He's hitting .274 since being drafted.
