Flip! Pollard switches to Gamecocks
South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp was known for flipping prospects committed to other schools during his Florida tenure. He's got his first as South Carolina's coach.
Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver Kiel Pollard flipped his commitment from Arkansas to South Carolina Sunday evening.
"I just did it. It's South Carolina, baby!" Pollard told GamecockCentral.com. "Coach Muschamp really wanted me. When I went up there it just felt right. I just followed my heart and talked with my family. (Muschamp) was excited."
Pollard took an official visit to Columbia on the Jan. 22 weekend.
"They're going to use me at wide receiver," Pollard said. "Inside or outside, it doesn't matter."
The 6-foot-1, 228-pounder originally committed to Arkansas in September, but Muschamp and recruiter of record Bobby Bentley made Pollard a priority as soon as they arrived at South Carolina.
Pollard also held offers from Boston College, California, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Purdue, Virginia Tech and UCF.
