Current No. 39: Demetrius Smalls and Rivers Bedenbaugh

Demetrius Smalls is a redshirt junior who is a part of the Gamecock secondary trying to improve on last year's defense. Smalls graduated from Bluffton High School (S.C.) and walked on to the team in 2015. Smalls should provide depth to the secondary this season.

Rivers Bedenbaugh is also a redshirt junior who transferred from Georgia Southern in 2014 and played in six games last season, primarily in a blocking roll. He earned SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll last fall. Bedenbaugh graduated from Lexington High Schoo (S.C.).

Former No. 39: Stanley Pritchett

Pritchett played for the Gamecocks from 1992 to 1995 where he rushed for 1,096 yards in his career with 16 touchdowns. He played primarily at fullback and on special teams for the Gamecocks. He went on to have a successful career in the NFL, playing for the Dolphins, Eagles, Bears and Falcons over the course of nine seasons. He now the head coach at Arabia Mountain High School in Lithonia, Ga.
