Two South Carolina transfers announce landing spots

Two former South Carolina players announced their new schools on Twitter Monday.

Former South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch, who announced his intentions to transfer following spring practice, Tweeted that he would attend James Madison for his final two seasons of eligibility.

Former Gamecocks receiver Jalen Christian, who left the team this spring in order to be closer to home, will opt to attend William & Mary.

"First of all I would like to thank everyone here at the University of South Carolina for 3 1/2 wonderful years that I will never forget," Mitch said in his Tweet. "I have made friends that became brothers for a lifetime. I want to thank the amazing die-hard fans that continue to show support for their university no matter the circumstances.

"I want to thank all of the coaches, medical staff, strength coaches, and especially coach Spurrier for giving me the chance to play quarterback under a coach of his caliber.

"But now I can finally announce that after graduating in 3 1/2 years here at The University of South Carolina that I will continue into graduate school and play my final 2 seasons of eligibility at James Madison University. I am ready to give (my) absolute all for the University, Coach Houston, and my new teammates. It's time to get after it. #GoDukes."

A former four-star prospect by Rivals.com, Mitch was considered the No. 13 pro-style quarterback and No. 248 overall prospect in his class.

Christian, who will just be a redshirt freshman this season, was also considered a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and the No. 38 wide receiver in his class.
