Tre Shaw recaps latest trip

For the second time in less than a month, South Carolina hosted a four-star defensive back out of Georgia for a visit to Columbia.

Ellenwood (Georgia) Cedar Grove's Tre Shaw made a two-day visit to USC's campus last month that seemed to propel the Gamecocks into legitimate contention for his services.

The 5-foot-11, 178-pounder was on hand Saturday for a prospect event put on by the Gamecock staff that was entirely focused on fun and relationship-building. Shaw gave high marks to the day's activities.

"I had a great time at USC," he said. "I loved the scavenger hunt we went on and I loved the way everyone came together as a family and just had fun. It reminded me of a family reunion."

Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson spent ample time with Shaw, along with current USC players and other prospects. Shaw believes that Muschamp and his staff are set to orchestrate a turnaround in Columbia.

"I think they will improve the program to make them into an up-and-coming program," he said.

Following this trip, Shaw said that USC still "stands in the same place" for him. The Gamecocks had made a lead group released this spring by Shaw, but he said on Sunday that he has no order to the schools in contention for his services.

There is no set time frame for the Peach State product to make his decision.
