“It’s a great day to be a Gamecock,” Staley said in a release. “Alexis joining our Gamecock family brings us a proven, versatile player. Her ability to score with her back to the basket and stretch the floor with her 3-point shot makes us instantly better.”

Jennings, who averaged 10 points and 7.1 rebounds a game last season, will sit out the upcoming season per NCAA rules and will have two years to play.

A 6-foot-2 forward from Madison, Ala., Jennings was rated as the ninth-best forward out of Sparkman High School in the 2014 class by ESPN.com. Jennings was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2015.
