Columbia (S.C.) Ridge View three-star linebacker Damani Staley pledged to South Carolina on Wednesday, but Perry Parks' Blazers are far from a one-man show.

"We've got a lot of great kids in this area and a lot of smart kids," Parks, Ridge View's second-year head coach, said Wednesday. "We want student-athletes. I don't want guys to say, 'Ridge View has a bunch of athletes,' I want them to say 'they've got a lot of smart football players' that we're going to try to coach up."

Several of Ridge View's student-athletes have begun to receive recruiting interest.

Class of 2017 offensive lineman Cameron Muller picked up an offer from Old Dominion earlier this month, is receiving heavy interest from Virginia, and will camp at South Carolina and Clemson.

"We have a big tackle that's starting to get a lot of looks and will probably play guard in college, Cameron Muller," Parks said. "[He's] 6-4, 315 [pounds], strong guy."

Class of 2017 athlete Latheron Rogers-Anderson recently moved from Sumter, S.C. to the Columbia area and is capable of playing a number of positions. The 6-foot, 192-pounder also has an Old Dominion offer and is receiving interest from South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp.

"He came in from Lakewood and he's going to be a special guy," Parks said. "Coach Muschamp likes him playing secondary, so we'll mix that in as well as running back."

Class of 2017 6-foot-3, 220-pound wide receiver/tight end Cameron Butler will be used in an H-back role this season after playing wide receiver a season ago and is expected to be a major focus in the Blazers' offense.

"We've got a sleeper in Cam Butler," Parks said. "He's an H-back with a tight end body, can move in space. He played quarterback forever, last year when I got here we converted him to receiver. We're expecting a lot of big things out of him. He's probably the next one that's about to pop and get some offers."
