Quotes:

Holbrook on Williams getting the start... "Matt has been swinging the bat very, very well in practice. He swung the bat well in January. Our assistants have been wearing me out to put him in there, or DH him some, or work him some at first base, because he's been swinging the bat well.

"Matt's a son of a coach, he's got some aptitude about him, some toughness about him, and some confidence. It was good to see him put a good swing on it and it carried over into the game what he's been doing in practice. That's good for the depth of our team and he certainly helped us when that game today."

Holbrook on his team's pitching Sunday... "Our pitching staff was terrific. They threw strikes, they worked ahead, nine strikeouts against on walk today. I thought Adam was terrific. He started losing his command a little bit there in the sixth inning, maybe in the fifth and the sixth.

"We just felt like in a tight game, let's let them look at a fresh, live arm in Tyler Johnson. It was good to see Tyler throw well in a tight game like that. That was encouraging. We have some depth with our arms. The way we play defense, if we throw strikes, we can make it difficult on our opponents to score."

Holbrook on preparing for SEC play... "I told them not to show up here tomorrow, I don't want them here. I want them to take a day off, get off their feet, starting today at about 5:00, rest and recharge their batteries today and tomorrow. I'm going to try to simplify things a little bit with the lineup on Tuesday and Wednesday. There's not going to be much experimenting going on. And it depends a little bit on the splits, but we're going to get ready for the upcoming weekend and use these Tuesday and Wednesday games as a little bit of a dress rehearsal from a lineup standpoint.

Hill on his first weekend start... "The crowd was a little bigger, but other than that, it's the same game. There was no difference really. It's just get ahead of hitters and throw strikes, get ahead with the fastball. There was really not much of a difference."
