Quotes:

Head coach Chad Holbrook on his team's performance... "I was really pleased with our team. I thought we played very, very well. Clarke was outstanding on the mound against a pretty darn good hitting team. I thought runs might be at a premium tonight with (Evan) Raynor's numbers and how he had pitched, but offensively I thought we were about as good as we've been all year."

Schmidt on what has been working so far this season... "I'm comfortable out there, I really am. Going out there and having these qualify outings, quality starts, it definitely helps your confidence. I've always had this confidence going out through the preseason and the fall and I knew I had to be a consistent guy and go out and give our team a chance every time. When you're in a groove like this, it feels good, but the key thing is you can't get too high on yourself and you can't get too low with a good outing or a bad outing. You've just got to move onto the next one, but I'm definitely happy with how I'm pitching."

Thompson-Williams on what the team was able to do at the plate... "This last week, we didn't do too well making adjustments, tonight i thought we did pretty good. When we say 'adjustments,' we don't mean pull, we mean going away. 80 percent of the pitches that we get are away. I think we made adjustments tonight. Even though they caught some good balls, it's good to see us actually putting that process to work.

Thompson-Williams on the home run... "To be honest, I don't see most of the balls I hit out the park. I thought it was a fastball, maybe it was a changeup, I don't know. I threw my hands at it and got good barrel on it. It happened to have backspin, so."

Thompson-Williams on hitting fifth in the order... "Honestly, I'm a lot more comfortable being back in the order and not being the first guy up. When it was my chance to lead off, I don't know if I made the best of it, but I tried to. It's weird, I didn't think I could get more hits being in the fifth hole but I have and I'm settling in pretty well. I like being in the fifth hole."
