Quotes

TJ Hopkins on starting in centerfield: “Coach Holbrook came up to me right after BP and said ‘You want to play today?’ And I mean of course I want to play today. So he joked around with it and I figured out a little bit later I was starting in center. I like playing in center.”

Dom Thompson-Williams on the team’s confidence: “We’re all staying positive about it and we’re coming in everyday ready to work. And it’s good we’re not playing 100 percent right now. Come June is when we want to play our best baseball, and we believe in that.”

Marcus Mooney on his injury: ““It didn’t feel good. It’s kind of like a dead arm, dead leg when you get that. It was very painful. I just had to wear it for a minute or two and it felt normal.”

Holbrook on Mooney’s injury: “I was worried about it being a hamstring. On my way to first base I hoped and prayed it was his hip pointer. That’s something that really hurt over the weekend and that’s all it was.”

Mooney on taking the thought process out of hitting: “We’re just having fun out there. You cant think too much out there or you’re out before you even go in there.”
