Decision day for in-state quarterback

Piedmont (S.C.) Wren three-star quarterback Jay Urich will announce his commitment today during a 3:30 ceremony in the Wren High School auditorium

The 6-foot-3, 186-pound Urich is down to South Carolina and Duke.

South Carolina offered Urich in April and the dual-threat quarterback has visited the program, where he's been recruited by co-offensive coordinator Kurt Roper, many times.

Interestingly enough, Roper's brother, Duke offensive coordinator Zac Roper is recruiting Urich for the Blue Devils.

Urich also holds offers from schools like Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Harvard, Yale and North Dakota State. He's been receiving heavy interest as of late from Tennessee, Boston College and N.C. State.

South Carolina does not have a quarterback committed to its 2017 class and plans to sign one.

Urich is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 20 prospect in the state.
