MYRTLE BEACH - Greeleyville (S.C.) C.E. Murray's Darius Rush is an athlete in the purest form of the word.

A five-sport standout, Rush plays quarterback, wide receiver, free safety, punt returner, kick returner and punter for the C.E. Murray football team.

"Darius is a special player and even more impressive, a special person," C.E. Murray head coach Brian Smith said. "He is like having another coach on the field, only he's an extraordinary athlete. He plays five sports, which is rare."

The 6-foot-2, 176-pound state championship track star, who will likely transition to wide receiver at the next level, landed his first offer Wednesday.

Rush competed at the Carolina Xposure Beach Bash satellite camp in Myrtle Beach when a coach from Miami (Oh.) offered.

"It's a great feeling, so I should keep working at it and get more offers," Rush said. "They have a great business school and my major is sports management, so that will be a school to look at."

GamecockCentral.com will have more later on Rush, who camped at South Carolina Monday.
