Big DT makes call for Gamecocks
New Orleans (Louisiana) McDonogh 35 defensive tackle Stephon Taylor held a signing day announcement ceremony at his school today and made it known that he will be playing his college football in Columbia.
The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder accumulated a strong offer list along the way, with the Gamecocks beating out Florida State and Texas to land Taylor. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and several other programs also extended offers to the three-star lineman during the recruiting process.
Taylor made an official visit to USC last weekend, a trip that put the Gamecocks in a strong position to land him.
