Greer (S.C.) class of 2018 cornerback Quavian White could potentially be one of the top prospects in his class for the Palmetto State.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pounder took in South Carolina's practice on Saturday.

"They kind of let us see the inside of how their practices goes and their coaching style," White said.

White, who is waiting on his first offer to roll through, is being recruited by running backs coach Bobby Bentley.

"I like him. I like a coach a coach that's in your face," White said. "I don't really like a soft coach, because that's not going to make me work as hard as I can. He's a pretty cool dude."

White also spent time on the trip with defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson.

"I like him too," White said. "He's like a straightforward person and he doesn't hold anything back. He's going to tell you what you need to do -- what you're doing wrong and what you're doing right -- he's not going to sugarcoat anything."

White says the Gamecocks talked to him about a potential offer.

"They just want me to grow a little taller, like 5-foot-10, basically two more inches," White said. "But they said they're going to recruit me hard as a 2018 DB and they want me to come show my face even more."

Who could be closest to offering?

"Probably Clemson and Tennessee and then USC too - they sounded like they really liked me on the visit," White said.

White has been working this offseason with defensive backs coach Chachi Sullivan on improving his technique.
