Leading off

--South Carolina had a season-high five sacrifice bunts today. That includes two RBI squeeze bunts in the game.

--Dom Thompson-Williams hit two home runs in a game for the first time in his career. They were his first home runs since March 12 against Charleston Southern.

--TJ Hopkins left the game in the fourth inning with a right knee injury. He was put in an air cast during the game. He’ll have an MRI Monday, but Holbrook said “he could be out a while.”

--Adam Hill was pulled after 2.2 innings, his shortest outing of the season. He finished giving up three earned runs on five hits.

--South Carolina walked 11 times Sunday, which is a season high.

On deck

Dom Thompson-Williams on his home run: “Any hits a good hit, especially if you can hit it out of the park.”

Dom Thompson-Williams on confidence going into last week: “All we can do is look forward to he next game and do what we can do in that game. This week we had three hits against a team we probably should have pounded. I’m happy with my team. I don’t think we should pay attention to the standings, we should just play our baseball.”

Marcus Mooney on the SEC race coming down to the last weekend: “A lot of us, we don’t pay attention to it at all. We know there’s stuff at stake, but we’re going to play our best baseball every day and hopefully it’ll carry over.”

Marcus Mooney on the team’s offensive output: “You have to put it behind you and get back to what we knew how to do, whether it’s putting time in at the cage. We had to put the ball in play, and that’s what we did today.”

Chad Holbrook on the emotion of the game: “I just wanted them to have fun. It looked like to me they listed too much to the outside noise and they felt too much pressure and they were looking around like, ‘Oh gosh what do we do now.’ That’s not the way baseball should be or can be played. You have to have fun. You have to take a deep breath, smile and play. You can pump your fist from time to time and show some emotion. That’s how the game’s meant to be played.”

Batting cleanup

--Josh Reagan threw 4.1 innings Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits. It was his second-longest outing of the season behind his 4.2 innings pitched against Clemson.

--LT Tolbert recorded his first RBI since last Friday against Kentucky when he hit a two-run home run. He finished going 1-for-3 with a walk.

--South Carolina won their first Sunday game in four weeks. The Gamecocks are now 7-3 on Sunday.

--Tyler Johnson earned his sixth save of the year after recording the final out of the game. Taylor Widener pitched before him and was in-line for the save but was pulled after giving up a two-run homer and a double in the ninth.

--South Carolina committed an error after Dom Thompson-Williams dropped a ball in the outfield. They recorded an error every game this weekend.
